The real question should be: How do I redirect what I already spend on healthcare and cleaning from the pharmacy and supermarket to natural remedies?
Each drop of essential oil is very powerful! Only a very small amount is needed and goes a long way. When it comes to healthcare, essential oils can be used with carrier oil and applied topically to the skin. The essential oil will eventually end up in body systems. Some of doTERRA's essential oils can be taken internally. They have Australia's Therapeutic Goods Authority (TGA) approval for consumption. Many people enjoy the health benefits of adding lemon essential oil to their bottle of water, and may also take a dose of essential oils in a vegie capsule (a capsule made from vegetables) to help remedy a health issue. Aromatic use of essential oils affects body systems, the most obvious being the respiratory system. Aromatic use may be by using a diffuser or special jewellery that holds essential oil to be dispersed naturally through the air, which you breathe in.
When it comes to cleaning, drops can be added to the washing machine, to cleaning sprays, to remove sticky residue, get rid of nasty odours and more.
Isn't it wonderful to have such a versatile remedy on hand that is not only supporting our health, but is natural substance perfectly safe to breathe in when cleaning! I used to dread cleaning the shower because I'd smell the chemical spray the entire time I was in there! Not anymore!
See the image below for the cost of certain essential oils by the drop. When you have something so versatile at hand, why would you choose anything else! And the bonus is that it is natural and perfectly safe to use.
So I'd like to challenge you to think of what products you buy at the supermarket that you could easily replace with a perfectly safe and cheaper homemade product, or one of doTERRA's products.
How about your surface spray? A 500ml chemical spray from the supermarket costs approximately $5. If you make it yourself and reuse your glass spray bottle the price becomes a lot cheaper! On Guard essential oil blend has antibacterial qualities.
Glass spray bottle (to be reused) $2
Cooled, boiled water $0
10 drops On Guard essential oil $1.60
A total of $3.60 the first time, and when refilling $1.60!!!
Tea Tree essential oil has some wonderful properties. You can spend less than a dollar on a 30ml spritzer bottle and add some carrier oil, Lavender essential oil and Tea Tree essential oil and use it as an owie spray on the skin, instead of a chemical based antiseptic liquid which costs $10.45 for 500ml. You can also use this spray to clean your hands if there is no soap available.
Glass spritzer bottle $0.70 (to be reused)
Just under 30ml Carrier oil $1.50
5 drops Lavender essential oil $0.55
5 drops Tea Tree essential oil $0.50
A total of $3.25 the first time, and when refilling $2.55!!!
